Chapter 2 · Signs
If houses are the stages of your life and planets are the characters, signs are the moods those characters wear. Each sign is a 30° slice of the zodiac — twelve moods, one full circle.
Each sign carries three qualities — its element, its modality, and its ruler. Once you know these three, you know a lot about that sign's tempo.
Direct, brave, quick to start. Wants to lead. Impatient with slow processes.
Grounded, sensory, patient. Values quality, comfort, and slow beauty. Stubborn when pushed.
Curious, quick-minded, communicative. Loves ideas and short journeys. Sometimes scattered.
Emotional, protective, deeply intuitive. Home and family come first. Feels the mood of a room instantly.
Warm-hearted, regal, generous. Wants to be seen — but earns it through service, not attention-seeking.
Analytical, precise, service-minded. Notices details others miss. Their kindness is in the small acts.
Balanced, aesthetic, diplomatic. Relationships are the stage. Struggles when forced to pick sides.
Intense, private, transformative. Doesn't do small talk. Goes to the depth or not at all.
Philosophical, optimistic, freedom-loving. Wants meaning behind every action. Poor with cages.
Disciplined, patient, mountain-slow. Builds things that last. Their success looks late but is deep.
Independent, inventive, community-minded. Sees the bigger system. Slightly cool from close-up, warm from far.
Empathic, dreamy, spiritual. Feels others' pain as their own. Wants to serve, sometimes forgets to rest.
The zodiac isn't random. The pattern goes: fire → earth → air → water, repeated three times. And within each of those elements, one sign starts, one sign holds, and one sign shifts. That's the whole shape.
So Aries (fire, cardinal) begins. Taurus (earth, fixed) settles. Gemini (air, mutable) shifts. Then Cancer starts again with water, and the cycle continues.
Open your chart. Find the Moon — look where it sits by sign. That sign is your Moon rasi, the one Indians identify with more than any other.
Then read that sign's card above. Ask yourself: does the mood match how you actually experience your inner world?
